چکیده
We study dynamical symmetry breaking in three-dimensional QED with a Chern-Simons (CS) term, considering the screening e ect ofN avor fermions. We nd a new phase of the vacuum, in which both the fermion mass and a magnetic eld are dynamically generated, when the coe cient of the CS term equals Ne=4 . The resultant vacuum becomes the nite-density state halflled by fermions. For = Ne=2 , we nd the fermion remains massless and only the magnetic eld is induced. For = 0, spontaneous magnetization does not occur and should be regarded as an external eld. 11.10.Kk, 11.30.Cp, 11.30.Qc Typeset using REVTEX
